happyrobot has recently uncovered copies of rejection letters from the Grant a Wish Foundation, the New York based organization which grants terminally ill children one wish. While many are granted, many more (as we found out) are not.
This is just a sample of what the foundation DOESN'T grant, leaving hundreds of children with their wishes unfulfilled…

Dear Jimmie Rae,
Our apologies for the delay! Our last make-a-wish recipient wished to take us all on a seven day cruise with him to Hawaii where we were given massages, drinks, and free hula lessons! As the night approached, we were treated to a performance by the locals, and swam by moonlight. In the morning we went snorkeling, and learned how to harvest kelp. Anyway, we unfortunately cannot grant your request for a miniature sailboat kit at this time.
