I was brought up on the Rudiments of Wisdom by Hunkin; a cartoon strip in the Observer newspaper. My favourite bit was the occasional experiments. This was also probably the reason why I was banned from chemistry lessons at High School for 3 weeks. I suppose the fact I was caught making high explosives made it a quite reasonable punishment.
