I guess this is different than sync-ing Gmail, Calendar, etc., with imap on the iPhone?

hmm. I didn't think the calendar synced via IMAP - mail was only via IMAP. Calendar and contacts were via the Google Sync which is via the Active Sync feature on the phone. Basically, now it's all one single connection that does PUSH for mail, contacts, and calendar.
Mine is finally working... I think they may have had a hiccup with all the attention yesterday.

Oh, right. I guess I was always going from Google Calender to iCal rather than the reverse. I'll rig it up soon, thanks!
