 Most BYOB Restaurants in NYC Are Breaking the Law
The problem is that most New York restaurants with a BYO policy are flouting the law unknowingly and risk hefty fines or even forced closure.

The vast majority of eateries that encourage customers to supply their own alcohol need a special ‘bottle club' license to do so. Restaurants that have fewer than 20 seats are the only exception to the rule.

Thanks to Stu for pointing out their plight! I did a quick bit of research and found that the parks Commissioner is Adrian Benepe.

You can contact him at the link below. Tell everyone you know to email him to demand that they allow the current vendors to stay. There is very little of the sublime that is still left in NYC. Let this one bit stay.

 Curb Your Enthusiasm Frees Wrongly Accused Man from Prison
HBO allowed Melnik to look through the footage, and he found a shot of Catalan with his 6-year-old daughter and two friends. The footage was time coded, confirming that Catalan was at the ballpark shortly before the time of the slaying 20 miles away in the San Fernando Valley.

“There he was in the outtakes,” said Gary S. Casselman, the attorney handling Catalan's lawsuit. “He's glad it's over. It's terrible to be in jail, and he thought he would never see his daughters again.”
