I've been telling this story all weekend so here goes:
My grandfather was constantly asked how he wound up having six children and he always gave the same response. He would tell people that he used to grease the bedroom door with vaseline so my grandmother could not get out. I think he was joking. Anyway, some years ago we had a 70th birthday party for him at his favorite restaurant in Island Park, Portsmouth and we awarded him with a plaque that featured his name, a doorknob, and a jar of vaseline.
