happyrobot has recently uncovered copies of rejection letters from the Grant a Wish Foundation, the New York based organization which grants terminally ill children one wish. While many are granted, many more (as we found out) are not.
This is just a sample of what the foundation DOESN'T grant, leaving hundreds of children with their wishes unfulfilled…

Dear Bobby,
We are sorry to inform you that we will be unable to fulfill your wish of someday "riding in a hot air balloon". While it is a good idea, and one we've seen quite a lot of before, the only ballooning day left this year falls on our office manager's birthday. Had we not already made reservations at Chi Chi's, we would definitely look more closely into making your wish come true.
Please feel free to join us at Chi Chi's, if you decide to alter your wish to include Mexican food.
