on the today show this morning, they interviewed the poor girl that got bopped on the head with a bat while wearing the sausage costume. first of all, the footage of this sausage mascot parade/race is endlessly funny - sausages? in a race? on parade? funny. second of all, while i distrust anyone that makes more than 100 bucks playing a SPORT, he didn't actually "hit" her - i think he thought "wouldn't it be funny AND cool to bop one of these weiners on the head?!". i think now that he looks back on it, it wasn't such a brilliant idea after all and i bet he feels like a real ass at this point. especially with his cool aviator sunglasses and mc hammer-ish royal blue suit coats he wears for press conferences. the girl interviewed on today said she wasn't hurt, just a bit "shooken up". but to top it off, as if being the sausage mascot wasn't enough for the today show, the interviewer said "now, you work in a deli? is that right?" the look on this girl's face was like "haven't i endured enough already without you announcing to every person in the country that i also work in a deli?" smartly, she asked for the bat that she got hit with. i'm sure we'll see that bat on ebay really soon.
