Nutshell Kingdom: Aphorist Stagefright
2003

Being a writer of sound mind and short attention span, I have decided to try my hand at the underappreciated, yet historically resonant, literary medium of aphorisms. There is a grand tradition of aphorists, stretching from those guys who wrote the Bible to William Blake, from Oscar Wilde to Woody Allen, all the way down to the page-a-day calender people (my grandest aspiration). From now on, occasionally I will just work out an aphorism and post it. Its the best way I can think of to work on my craft. Not every entry, mind you, just sometimes. Whenever I think of one. I don't know when that will happen. I'm thinking... nothing yet. I'll keep you posted.

I'm so embarrassed. All the aphorisms I had saved up for this sound so stupid to me now. Literally, I'm blushing. Never mind.
