2001

I had one of those perfect mornings...just minutes ago. After half awakening from this really somber dream of being in a small Connecticut town, I dazedly came into consciousness (I have a lifetime practically of sleeping between the snooze button). It was a rainy, pitter-pat morning. The light was very faint. I had forgotten to shut the curtain all the way (for Mark) the night before and the diffused light was even further diffused by the shears. It was a perfect temperature in the house. I had my lover's naked body cuddling mine and Marbles, our third cat, was cuddled next to me. When she noticed I was awake, she stretched in greeting and squinted at me. As I slowly realized that it was 20 minutes past time for me to go to work, I just lay there and absorbed it all.
