our car got broken into sunday night. you may remember that this was the new car we got to replace the car we got in an accident with in april. apparently, we're fated not to own cars. .
anyway, consideratly they broke the "back vent window" (that's the technical term...i just call it "the little back window on the door"). they could've just bashed in the more expensive power window but they didn't...how nice. then they were not so nice and stole the radio and marked up the dashboard removing the stereo with a screwdriver. bastard(s). this is the second one in about a month at our apartment. same m.o. and everything. the police don't even come out to the scene...they just write it up over the phone because it's the university area and they get 100 calls a week for crap like this. nice, huh?
so the inconveience is the worst. driving all around to get this looked at, to get that fixed, to get this and that replaced. total cost? $700 (can you believe how much car stuff costs???). thankfully, our insurance covers it and we only have to pay a $50 decuctible ("only". har har. i think $50 is all i have in my bank account 'til payday on monday) . and all the foot work. and duct tape on our window. and lost peace of mind.
