craig and i finally got around to watching "ray" this week. i thought it was good. i was telling craig how it's funny with these biopics because you take a seeminly benign person - ray charles whom i've always thought was a fabulous singer - and not only do you learn of the adversities they've overcome, you also learn the unsavory - how he was a womanizer and had 12 children with 7 different women (well, i had to look that exact number up on wikipedia but you got the point from the movie). um, ick. so now i still think he's a fabu singer but i think maybe he's a bit of a prick. so i'm expounding upon all these thoughts with craig and i'm throwing the word biopic around like i'm scorsese and when i'm finished craig gently says "um, you mean bio-pic?" because for ten minutes i've been saying BI-OPIC. christ, really? it's bio-pic? what the hell am i saying? BI-OPIC? something having to do with bionic robot eyes? and craig is SO nice and didn't make fun of me at all even though if HE was saying BI-OPIC, i'd be peeing my pants and saying "bi-opic" every chance i got (this is presupposing i was a genius and knew how to pronounce it correctly in the first place). then i heard the woman on "entertainment tonight" say bio-pic and i was all like, great, even that fluff head can get it right but i realize that her people probably coached her on that word so i felt a little better. but really, bi-opic? hm.
