AOL Hates AOL Mail
I had my first real run-in with using AOL when visiting the in-laws and using their new computer. I have used AOL a few times before, but this was the first time I had really used it and was amazed how confusing and badly built the whole AOL software was.

Then I recalled hearing that after the AOL/Time Warner merger that they wanted their office folk to start using the AOL mail as their main mail application, which I snickered at and assumed this wouldn't last for long.

Well, apparently it didn't according to MSNBC (their competition, who I am sure had fun doing this article).

To be fair, this article clarifies that the AOL/TW people weren't using the same lame AOL mail program, but one modified from Netscape's mail program (oh, much better).
And furthermore, our AOL/TW pal says that she has not heard one word about this in her division - apparently this is happening more in the Time Warner section.

OK, this just in. On the same message board that people were discussing this, another guy wrote in (he is apparently a computer pro)

NO WONDER AOL SUCKS!!! All the computer pros like me HATE because of it's email problems and i'd rather use MS Outlook than the crappy aol software that crashes 24/7! That's why Computer Pros like me HATE AOL ALL TOGETHER!!!

Hello dork, you are hired!

Adam
Wow. You look really cool in this pic. Adina, you give your man a big hug for all of us - he's done real good for himself.

GD Neighbors
We, like most people, have neighbors. We have neighbors all around. Below us is the crazy lady who I think is the cause of our one-time mouse problem. Next-door is the man who plays a sad guitar. Above us are some white kids much like us (I suppose).

The upstairs ones decided that Friday night / Saturday morning that it would be a good idea to rearrange their apartment at 4am. From 4am to 7am they were moving stuff around and dropping things. We have no sound proofing in this stupid building, so as you can imagine it was quite fun for us sleepers who had planned on oversleeping and not waking up at 4am. I went up there twice and banged on the door and rang their bell to ask what the hell was going on. No one answered, which is kind of weird and makes me think that someone up there may be "crazy".
Otherwise, they have been fine neighbors.
What nerve, though.
