Yesterday at work
There was this lady yelling at the security guys in the lobby. I wanted to stop and watch - it looked totally enthralling. The building is one of those 'show your pass' to get in places, and there was something to do with her trying to use a phone or something. She seemed to work in the building - but maybe didn't have her ID. Who knows. That reminds me...

My dream invention
I would love to have a device that you can point at and get the story. Like above, I see the gaurds and this woman yelling at each other, and I point it at them, and it goes beep boop beep and then on the screen the report appears.

She used to work here. And came in to try to sneak up. The guards caught her as she tried to sneak past Bob. She planned on stealing some documents from her old office. Bob is pissed that she almost got past him and he's taking that frustration out on her.

It would be the same size and shape of a palm pilot. If I had one of those, after I made more and sold millions and licensed it to someone, I would spend the rest of my life walking around pointing it at people.
Ooo! What if you pointed it at yourself! Now that would be cool.

America Day
Happy America Day. Woo.

Three stomach turning situations- all involving children.
by rachel
1) (i didn't actually see this one) Rich was in the bathroom at the airport and a little boy was using the urinal as his mother waited outside. The boy did his business and then he proceeded to grab the urinal cake! We don't know if he washed his hands.

2) this one I saw this weekend- this kid was on the train (at least 13 yrs old) and he had pair of fake teeth- the kind w/ the teeth all crooked and yellow. He was wearing them and then he took them out and was playing with them. He then drops the fake teeth on the subway floor. Rich and I both watch as he picks them up, holds them for a few minutes and puts them back in his mouth

3) I was walking down Broadway and there was a mother & daughter standing in a bus shelter. The mother was standing in the corner not paying any attention to the little girl. The girl is standing with her hands on the glass of the shelter and then I see her stick her tongue out and proceed to lick the glass from top to as high as she could reach. I was so shocked and grossed out I stopped, screamed & pointed. Her mom then took notice. ugh!

Futbol
The other day on this NPR show, they were reading letters from listeners, and some goofball American was saying, "enough with the world cup - no one likes soccer", and I kept thinking, "yea, no one except the f*cking whole world".
Americans are so up on their selves. I mean, look at our sports and how the championships are always 'World Championships' even though we don't play any countries other than Canada.
World Series? World? Ha.
It's just like the US not joining the World Court.

GM
Last night on the BBC, they were talking about this new plan to label food correctly. I don't know if this is even used here, but in the UK, there is a system where you have to mark food as having genetically modified material in it. Someone wants to pass a law that says 'any' genetically modified material in the food, no matter how miniscule, should be listed as 'GM', and the problem is that they are now saying that every piece of food has some GM elements in it.
Creepy. It makes me feel mutant-esque.

Crying People
When ever I pass someone on the street who is crying - like they just broke up with someone or they just got bad news or whatever, I think to myself, "today is just another day to me, but to this person it's one of the worst days of their life".
It seems like shit would have to be pretty, um, shitty, to just bust out in tears on the street. Or am I wrong? Do you all cry in public? Could I suffer from some phobia? Some emotional phobia?
(Am I going to run that joke in the ground? Yes. Yes, I am.)

Cry in Public
I think the last time I did was in the 7th grade. And if I ever run into those bastards again, and they are smaller than me, I will kick their ass.
F*ckers. You know who you are.
