The song by Vic Chesnutt from Zebulon Georgia by way of Athens played on her JBL speaker and she wanted to sink her fattening body into the ground and ugly cry in hell.

It of course reminded her of the first night - when she was up at 2amET drinking some beer and it was Fourth of July night and she wondered why her instincts had failed her and she wasn't going to have this man in her life.

Fast forward seven months later and he was out of her life after a surprising run. he had told her he lost his phone that night and that's why he hadn't texted her back. He had lost all her texts in fact.

She just pictured him older and lonelier and more stubborn and
not reaching out to her
even though

he had always loved her

and she fucking
lost the fucking
plot
