01.26.05 I've held out long enough. I must discuss the glorious heaps of snow outside. I am a fan of all those little individual flakes. I don't even mind shoveling. When they first fall to earth, everything looks so beautiful. That is until we horrible humans make slush and muck out of it.
This morning, at Joce's insistence, we went for a "run." It was hard work, more like snowshoeing without the snowshoes or doing those football style relays in between tires. You had to lift your legs high and spread 'em wide. It always feels great though. So relaxed afterwards.
Last week, I went out during some flurries through Trinity-Bellwoods.. My glasses were all fogging up and the trees were thick with snow. It looked as though I had climbed through the wardrobe into Narnia.
So now for the irony. Whistler is out of snow! Unseasonably warm weather and heaps of rain are leaving the runs sticky and slushy. Things better improve before our trip out West in two weeks or I will be totally bummed.
