What not to say to the love of your life when they show up in a blizzard with a beautiful bouquet of flowers:
"What?! I spent my whole subway ride laughing at pathetic boys with pink cards and flowers in hand."
Doh! I just really didn't expect anything for this hallmark of holidays. I guess that by repeatedly forgetting to show thoughtfulness on pre-ordained event such as birthdays and anniversaries, he has trained me to have very low expectations. Clearly my reaction is all his fault ;-)
Ok, truth: he is the bestest and the sweetest around.
