2001

Ah today, I'm thinking my life isn't so bad. When we heard of the bombings in Ghannystan, we did what we do best: we plowed on in the American Way. In fact, I had one of my favorite Sunday's of the year. Mark and I had a lie-in where we cooked a whole pound of turkey bacon (ah I still crave the sinful taste) and some hashbrowns and invited our neighbor friends over to share in our bounty. It was a beautiful, crisp day. Charles stopped over just as we were watching the bombing. It was nice to have people around. Then some other friends stopped over. Then we all made our way to play schtickball at a local field. The non-players (mark and I included) read the Sunday new york times in deep right field. After playing, we had a cookout at our house and got a good buzz on (only on American and British products of course). I made veggie chili and hot apple cider. Afterwards, we got out the ole trivial pursuit genius edition four and went to town. The evening trickled away by 9pm and Mark and I watched a marathon of documentaries about space until we went to bed.

The whole day of today, I've been in a happy haze (naturally waiting for the other shoe to drop). If my husband could have a relatively stable nine-to-six or seven that interested him, it would be sublime. I truly enjoy the simple pleasures (for now) of being bored and walking around and reading. Ahhhhh vie! (Of course I have a million other "worries" like debt, job future, money, etc., but they just don't seem that important compared to my wonderful lover).
