Lisa. Simpsons.
It's amazing that my dear friend Lisa is now just discovering the hit tv show 'the simpsons'. Ironically, her husband Craig and I bonded the first time we met by discussing the Simpsons.
We both ended up getting assignments at the same company as temps, and spent hours goofing off and talking about our favorite parts of our favorite episodes. I knew Lisa, and after Craig and I started hanging out socially, I had this strange feeling that he and Lisa should meet.

Craig and I spent hours of post work time at a local bar called Ruby's on 9th avenue, which is up the street from Rudy's. This was circa 1996-97, and Ruby's was great because it was never crowded, and the clientele consisted of old, mentally challenged folks sitting alone. Being smart ass kids, we had full run of the jukebox (not bad) and pretty much the whole bar.
We drank beer, talked to the bartender ('you need someone kidnapped? You find me, I do it'), played Johnny Cash songs, and talked about boobies - cars - simpsons - co-workers.

Tangent?
Tang?

Lisa worked in the same building as we did, and after Craig met her there was definite cute flirting going on. There was something about a Twinkie, and she had one delivered to his office. And he faxed stuff to her.
It was cute.

We all went out one night after work for drinks (or 'drinkies' as people called them then - so Y1K), and Craig's sister showed up and I remember something about his sister saying to Craig, "I love Lisa - you have to go out with her".
I think they made out on his roof or something that night.

Then, my two pals who were in love, moved to North Carolina together, and got married the month after we did in 2000.
So, I have two pals who are married to each other (convenient!), but unfortunately they left the city.

Some guy in Scotland
This guy in Scotland just said, "wonkey" in regards to their servers. I have been sitting here for about 3 hours playing on the web while their servers are being wonkey, so that is fine by me. Being paid by the hour.
Guy who looks important, boss like, comes in. Nothing working. Looks disappointed. Frustrated? Sure.
People leave the room to talk about things. Away from the tards.
All is wonkey.

Song in my head all morning
'These boots were made for walking', but have changed the words to, 'These boots were made for knocking'. I can't believe someone like Lil' Kim hasn't done that as a song.
Could be interesting if done right.
Title it, 'boots made for walking 2002' or something.

DSL still down
Dear Earthlink,
As much as I love looking at the modern day internet via my 28K borrowed modem, I do miss my DSL. Please return it to me.
Thanks,
Jeebus.

Speaking of Jeebus
Eric(s) thought maybe changing the Pledge of Allegiance to say, 'one nation under Jeebus' might work, and also prove to be funny.
This whole Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional thing is really strange. I have always been a big fan of separation of church and state, and a supporter of the separation of church and state and me, but even this I find myself disagreeing with - for no reason other than my memories of saying it in school and the slight warm, miniscule patriotic feeling it gave me.
I fear, in my over reactive imagination that this will be the point in history when things really started going downhill.

I have never been a big religion kind of person, mainly due to having to attend Sunday School where they had these lo-fi snacks and doofus 'teachers'. Oh, and all the kids there were the ones I couldn't stand in school.
But, I think there has to be some sort of... something to keep society together.
Stupid world.
