the way i see it: Child Rapist Burning Up The Charts
Does anyone besides me find it disturbing that The Dixie Chicks' career took a dive (I'm sure they're doing fine) and were banned from radio stations across the country, but R. Kelly, who has been hit with child rape and child pornography charges is burning up the charts? I just got the new Billboard today and you would think he's never been more popular.

He wrote the songs at numbers 3, 22, 27, 50, and 80 on Billboard's Hot 100.

He wrote the songs at numbers 11, 17, 18, 24, 36, 37, 48, 52, and 73 on the R&B/Hip Hop Chart.

I'm not saying that R. Kelly isn't allowed to make a living, or that he's guilty. I'm just saying that it just bothers me that we live in a society that will beat you down for using your right to free speech, but doesn't seem to give a shit that a (alleged) child rapist is responsible for 10% of what is being played on the radio.

Where's the national dialogue on this?
