10.06.06

Feeling overly introspecitve these days. I keep thinking about when I was a teenager and every adult I knew said, "These are the best times of your life kid, so live it up and enjoy!"

Knowing now what I didn't know then, I don't know that I would agree. At this point in my life, if I could travel back in time, I would definitely pick my early 20s as the time to re-live. If I could go back to that period of my life, armed with the knowledge that I have now, I would have done some things very differently:

Dear 20 year old self,
Here are some rules to live by from your 30 something somewhat together domesticated self:

- Party hard! These are the days when all you need to recover is a good greasy breakfast. Well, you do already party hard, so party harder please!
- Take up some kind of workout routine. You'll thank me for this.
- Don't be so afraid.
- Play it cool when it comes to boys. They aren't interested in your brains for anything other than help with their homework.
- Stay open to your options (have lots of sex!)
- Be nicer to your parents. They really do mean well.
- Try to be more comfortable with your girly side. Makeup and skirts aren't as evil as you thought. Big black boots still rule though!
- Umm lay off the Doritos, I know they go great with beer, hockey and sweaty boys but you will regret them later.

That's all. Now stop reading and start living.

your self,
me.
