ok, i will start talking about texas soon. BUT. i gotta tell y'all this quick story from yesterday.
my parents are in town -- visiting from austin. we went to the chinese theater yesterday, did the whole backstage VIP tour business. the guide was a fantastic, enthusiastic, star-fucker, actor wannabe who said "amazing" about a hundred times. (my mom and i started counting once it became obvious and then we couldn't stop snickering.)
ANYWHO. towards the end of the tour, one person in our group asked this guy about the different celebrities he's met. and he's met them all. he said that he's on aquaintance level with many of them, since most come to all the premieres at the theater. and the nicest are morgan freeman and jon voight. because they're just regular guys. and that tom cruise and katie holmes arrived 3 hours early (which celebs never do) to the war of the worlds premiere just to hang out with the fans -- prompting one girl to mutter, "i've heard he's really cool."
and then our guide paused. like he wanted to say something, but wasn't sure if he should say it. i started getting psyched -- here comes something good -- i asked, "what is it?" he says, "well, i'm not sure if i should say this." c'mon c'mon!!!
so he says, "over my entire career here at the chinese theater, there's only one celebrity who everytime - EVERYTIME - he comes here just isn't nice. right after the Spongebob Squarepants premiere, a little boy was walking behind David Hasselhoff -- and he was the only recognizable person in that movie -- with a pen and a sheet of paper to get his autograph, and i can't believe he said this, but he turned around to that little boy and said:
"WHAT DO YOU WANT?!!
WHY ARE YOU FOLLOWING ME?!!"
