A couple of co-workers and I are doing a sugar-free challenge this week. Feel free to join us and let us know how it goes.
If you want to be really hard core, you can eliminate all refined foods, but that can cause a bit of a shock to the system at first and MAJOR headaches the first week. I will not be cutting out coffee (I have 1 cup/day) but I will be cutting out booze.
Good foods to ease the pain
Roasted sweet potatoes
Fresh fruit (avoid oranges)
Yogurt banana and berry shake with a bit of unsweetened apple or pineapple juice (I know some people would avoid juice altogether, but I am not so hard core).
Tamari almonds
Asian cuisine like dhals and stir-fries. Brown rice rocks. (Avoid teriyaki sauce and other sweet glazes and dips.)
Can you think of good sugar-free treats for this week?
