People say that life is the thing, but I prefer movies
I saw a lot of movies in college, because a) I'm a movie geek, b) I became the A&E Editor for the student newspaper, and c) watching movies is easier and cheaper than meeting women. The vast majority of my favorite movies were seen during this four year period. The following is the movies, split up between whether they rocked* me, indie** rocked me, prog*** rocked me, emo****-ed me, or grunge***** rocked me. The asterixed movies are ones I would put in my top ten favorite movies.
* They rock. These are great movies that everyone should love ** If too many people find out about these movies, I shall stop liking them. *** These were supposed to make me more cerebral and get chicks and wound up irritating me **** I enjoyed these, but they made me wallow in my inability to get chicks ***** I enjoyed these at the time and now I feel guilty for having liked them
Rock Dr. Strangelove* Big Lebowski* Casablanca Brazil Goodfellas Unforgiven Vertigo Rear Window* Dog Day Afternoon The Graduate Network One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Singin' in the Rain* Taxi Driver
Indie Being John Malkovich Wonder Boys Withnail and I Harold and Maude Three Kings Out of Sight Leon: The Professional The Iron Giant Koyaanisqatsi Blood Simple Blue Velvet Miller's Crossing Paths of Glory Ed Wood Election
Prog Wings of Desire (Quite possibly the worst movie I've ever been told I'll love) 2001: A Space Odyssey Barry Lyndon AI: Artificial Intelligence Lost Highway
Emo Rushmore High Fidelity* Say Anything Better off Dead Almost Famous Annie Hall Manhattan* Before Sunrise
Grunge As Good as It Gets American Beauty The Blair Witch Project The Sixth Sense Chasing Amy Face/Off The Fifth Element Fist of Legend Good Will Hunting Natural Born Killers Pleasantville
