Three Breakfast Saturday
Yesterday was a three breakfast Saturday. I didn’t eat three meals at breakfast time. I just kept eating breakfast foods in the course of my day. If breakfast is the most important meal of the day, then every meal was important on Saturday. In between breakfasts, I had an awesome day.
Breakfast One was my normal get-up-in-the-morning breakfast. It got me going and enabled me to transform from Sleeping Jen to Awake Jen. I always eat when I get up. I could never skip breakfast. I’d end up too hungry an hour or two before lunch.
After tottering around the house for awhile, I met up with my hiking buddy in Temescal Canyon. It was a perfect day for hiking. The sun was shining, and there was a cool breeze coming in off the Pacific. Ah yes, So Cal in November.
After our hike, we went to a late brunch in Santa Monica where I had Breakfast Two, an omelet with chicken sausage and tomato. It was yummy, and I was on a protein high.
However, I got home later than I had planned, so I had Breakfast Three or a bowl of cereal before running out to see a play. I was in a very good mood as I sat down in the Freud playhouse to watch the Druid Theatre Company do their thing (and they do their thing so very well), and I wondered if my three breakfasts had anything to do with my happy self.
I don't think I can eat three breakfasts on a regular basis, but it was nice to try it out on a saturday. Maybe next time, I'll try a three lunch friday.
