								| sunshine jen: Stuck in a Musical
I love U2, but musicals are a bitch to write. This one goes out with sympathy to my favorite millionaires as their first musical finally opens.

In my mental universe, Bono goes up to microphone and sings the following in all his Bono-ness.

I’m not afraid of anything in this show
There's nothing you can throw at me that can stub my mental toe
I'm just trying to find a decent melody
A song that can be sung in comic book-ality

I never thought you were a fool
 But Julie, look at you
You gotta write some plot, give it all you got
 Your metaphors go nowhere, baby

We’ve got to get ourselves together
We got stuck in a musical and now we can't get out of it
Don't say that later will be better now we're stuck in a musical
And we can't get out of it

I will not forsake, the stunt guys are hurting
 And the plot is circling
 And leaves you with nothing
I am still enchanted by the flights above my head
I still listen through my ears, and through my mouth I’m fed

But I am such a fool
 To worry like I do
These shows are tough, and you can never do enough
To make it work just a little... my oh my

We’ve got to get ourselves together
We’ve got stuck in a musical and now we can't get out of it
Oh Edge, look at us now
We've got ourselves stuck in a musical and now we can't get out of it

 And if budget runs over
And if the run won't last
And if our way should falter
 Along the Broadway pass
 It's just a musical
 This show will pass
