It was 2pm in the afternoon and I was on my way to work. I notice the platform had quite a few people - so that should mean a train is coming shortly. I walk down to the end of the platform, which seemed unoccupied except for this couple. I was getting off at 42nd street to switch to the shuttle so I need to be in the last car.
The very end of the platform had these cinder blocks and some of that orange mess stuff up to keep people away. I walk to the section just past the couple and peer out to see if the train was coming. You will not believe what I saw.
There at the very end of the platform behind a pillar was a homeless woman giving a homeless man HEAD.
YOU HEARD ME!
HEAD on the subway platform at 2 in the afternoon!!!! I quickly retreated back to where the other couple was standing just so I didn’t have to see that head bobbing. At that point, the guy from the couple noticed what was going on as well and alerted his girlfriend. I can tell by their expressions that it was HEAD that I saw. Now this really wasn’t something I wanted to bond with strangers over but I really wanted to say WTF? At that moment, we hear his belt buckle rattle and he appears from behind the pillar fixing his pants. She has since gone to the very end and is facing the tracks so I am not sure what she is doing.
The couple and I exchange some looks like did you just see what I saw meanwhile the man then jumps down onto the tracks and crosses them and hops up on the uptown side of the station. The downtown train approaches and we all board except the homeless woman. I quickly take out my book and try to get the image out of my head. I am sure I will have a few nightmares tonight.
